lengthening, deepening
lengthening, deepening
her tired sun has set.
now,
two distinct worlds
with two separate sets of rules
wrestle for her vessel;
one wraps her in Spidey’s web
the other offers her the warm dignity of a caring daughter
but twilight’s sombre shadows
that embrace the soul in a cold womb
are the only truth
– a shiver runs down my spine
not yet is dusk on my horizon
but the dust has begun to settle
on the permanent shapes in my world
day has turned
i wonder,
which sheets will cocoon me
which cartoon will mock my mortality?
the light shining in my afternoon
what comfort will she bring
