but united in time
and immortalized

silent, still
trying to out-stare the shadow
to live although their light has gone out

they are us
we are them
but on the other side of the lens

we try to capture light
hold it for a fleeting moment
i replenish, you collect

a frozen sun shines upon this collage
but no rays are reflected from the canvas
