… “Para que nada nos separe, que nada nos una”…

God’s clock

God’s clock

at the ocean’s highest peak, in the world’s deepest depth
life goes on; endless beginnings, always birthing ends

carried by winds and locomotor trains, by shifting sands,
born at midnight red lights, between empires, in the palm of my hand

and yet i feel as if only i know the truth when i am suspended
it’s my sundial, not God’s clock, that is correct

the Earth spins according to the springs i have wound
the correct time is the hour cast by my shadow

now we rise, now we sleep
now we sing, now we weep

as subtle as the movement of darkness, as drastic as the change
when it slowly swallows light
is the nature of my clarity when i experience the sight
